As we age, finding eye diseases early is important because many are easier to treat in their early stages. Additionally, ensuring everyone has access to quality eye care brings us a step closer to achieving health equity.

That’s why Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is proud to support Healthy Vision Month. This year’s theme is Healthy Vision: A Family Focus — an opportunity to inspire families to team up and learn how to protect their vision together.

The National Eye Institute (NEI) is centering this year’s campaign on caregivers of children and older adults in Hispanic/Latino families. Supporting resources include a new suite of Spanish content and materials to support Spanish-speaking Hispanic/Latino families and caregivers.

To help spread the word, HQI encourages healthcare providers and community organizations to help connect families to preventive education. NEI’s website features comprehensive information about eye conditions and diseases, including up-to-date and evidence-based information about eye conditions and diseases in English and Spanish.

Together, we can help Hispanic/Latino families protect their vision — and work toward more equitable eye care.
