The Maryland Perinatal-Neonatal Quality Collaborative (MDPQC) recently recognized nearly three dozen hospitals throughout the state for their commitment to quality improvements that deliver better health outcomes for birthing people and newborns.
MDPQC is a statewide network of perinatal care providers and public health professionals working to improve health outcomes through continuous quality improvement and to make Maryland a safer place to give birth. The Collaborative provides participating birthing hospitals with educational resources, technical assistance and a platform for communication and sharing best practices.
Participating hospitals were eligible for one of four recognition levels (bronze, silver, gold or platinum) in each of two initiatives (obstetric hemorrhage and newborn hypoglycemia).
